Fascinated to read this. My greatgrandfather was assistant surgeon for the 111th PA. He got his commission March 1863 and reported to Belle Plain in April. He was at Chancersville and then onto Gettysburg where he was captured and held at the 2nd division hospital at Christ Lutheran.
