Peter Liebhold did an excellent job deflecting Senator Sanders’ criticism. But I don’t think Senator Sanders would have objected as much if the bust had been made in Germany or Japan. The fact that Chinese labor was used to make the item is only part of the problem, and of course we want Americans making tractors instead of future garage sale items. The bigger problem is that relying on manufacturing from a country with such poor labor and environmental standards masks the true cost of making this crap.
