One day about ten years ago at NIST (Gaithersburg), a colleague mentioned that GM was giving demo drives of their EV1. I went off and got in line. The car was lovely; it had a snappy takeoff and handled well in street driving. However, while EV1's range meter initially said I had 40+ miles, my lead foot got it down to 17 in about a quarter mile. GM's new Volt likely reflects many lessons learned with the EV1, allaying "range anxiety" being one of them.

Is there any chance that that roundtable discussion was recorded, and is available somehow online?
Just wishing!!!
