Hi thanks great article about the bicycle !

Thanks from Livorno Italy

i just purchased a star spangler vintage schwinn bicycle looking for its worth?have any idea?

@monica, it is against Smithsonian policy to place value on objects. If you are interested in having an item appraised, we recommend you contact the Appraisers Society of America at 703-478-2228. More info here http://www.si.edu/Encyclopedia_si/id-obj.htm

Good resource info. As an avid cyclist it is great to read about unique ways of getting students interested or at least thinking about the bicycle and how the "bicycle culture" evolved.

Sam,
Glad you liked the material. I had fun assembling it. I hope it's interesting both for the bike content and the instructional approach of giving students a chance to do history without having everything explained to them.
