I believe everything needs time and it's rather obvious that at the beginning everyone - no matter if "native" or "immigrant" - has to go through a learning process and step by step make friends with new technology including the idea that some hobby stuff can be also used as learning tools. But it's good that there is such a possibility. In Poland - my home country - some educational institutions (not excluding universities) are still at the level of using black boards and chalks.

I think the digital native concept is a bit simplistic, and while learners may be very comfortable with using web 2 tools, they often few skills at learning with the same tools.
